American Idol: Ellen DeGeneres debuts in Hollywood
I just have to comment on this show - I was an occasional watcher of AI. I could never stand the sit through an entire season of this cheesy show. I like the beginning auditions and then was curious at the end to see who won. I did like that unmistakable magic that existed existed between Simon and Paula. Well that is gone now. And I can't believe the producers put Ellen Degeneres in her place! Why? No music experience at all! Yes she is a talented comedian and wasn't it enough for her that she has her own show? What is she doing at AI? At least they brought her in after all the guest judges with music experience weeded out all the no talents. So now all Ellen has to do is make jokes and sort of give light comments about these people who we know can sing. Well I did not watch last night because I have no interest in the show anymore, however, I was shown footage of it at Fox 5 News. What I saw was Ellen being comic relief for a music talent show and worst yet, she was making a mockery of the show just to impose her comedy i.e., when she told contestants to "move forward, move back, move left, etc" What the heck was that? Yikes! Everyone in the media PLEASE stop kissing Ellen's rear. I sort of think that with Ellen being there it is a slap in the face to the talent of the other judges - especially Simon. If you ask me Simon stayed on a season too long. I think it is a smart move for him to leave that show after this season. And please do not ruin Howard Stern's career by bringing him on board. Why would Howard want to be on that show anyway. He is an media innovator, not a Simon replacement.

Why on earth would M. Ward want to work with someone like Zooey Deschanel? That's a question I often ask myself, but unable to find any particularly strong answer, I end up telling myself that M. Ward can do what M. Ward wants, and let it rest at that.
The news surrounding the Ward-Deschanel collaboration that goes by the name of She & Him today is that they've been confirmed to play the Matt Groening-curated ATP festival, which takes place over a weekend in May. At Butlins. In Minehead. It's their first ever UK appearance, too.
This leaves the line-up looking pretty well-rounded and that. It may even overtake the line-up for the Pavement curated one at some point in the not too distant future, just you wait. Elsewhere, there's a whole 'nother two acts added to the bill, the returning Liars , and Trash Kit . That all leaves the bill as below:
